Over 50% of all marriages end in divorce, many of them plagued by the common issues of:
- Inability to communicate effectively
- Lack of respect for each other’s feelings
- Different values and goals
- Inappropriate conflict resolution tactics
Unresolved conflicts sometimes lead to more serious relationship outcomes:
- Financial troubles
- Infidelity and STD’s
- Substance abuse
- Psychological issues
Without professional intervention, further individual and marital decline is inevitable:
- Domestic abuse
Broken marriages leave behind a trail of blaming, shaming, bullying, and other destructive tactics that while offering temporary satisfaction, will ultimately destroy the self along with the entire family. Pride always comes before a fall, and desperate attempts to save face simply ensure that you will end up being perceived as a jackass. It’s simply a battle where nobody wins.
It is the same for a country in turmoil. If we cannot deal with these issues, there will be no winners; we are all going to lose. The only difference – our country’s destruction will be measured on a global scale with disastrous consequences like war, disease, famine, economic collapse, and ecological decay. The only way we can prevent that is to let go of the need to be “right,” focus on the basics, and accept professional help as needed.
